EASTER CONVENTION-KWADAS0 AREA
THEME: THE RESURRECTION OF CHRIST, THE HEART OF THE GOSPEL
- 1 Corinthians 15:14
Friday, 19th April, 2019(Morning Session)
Speaker: Apostle Kingsford Kyei Mensah (Area Head)
“The most traumatic event of a person’s life is when a relative is lost. When this happens, we then realize that there is death”,said Apostle Kingsford Kyei Mensah in the opening part of his message.
Out of the main theme of the convention,Apostle Kyei Mensah carved the theme”HADES” and expounded on it.
Everyone is curious and eager to know what happens after the death of a person. Many people are still on the discussion table developing philosophies of men about the after life.
As believers, the word of God is the ultimate knowledge to be consulted for the whole meaning and existence of the world in the after life.
The old testament offers different synonyms for Hades. Some versions of the Bible name it as Sheol, grave, hell or death. This is mentioned 65 times in the old testament.
“Throughout the new testament the only place where hades has been thoroughly expounded is found in the gospel message. The author of this exposition is Jesus Christ. According to Luke 16:19-31, Jesus Christ gave a full picture about the hades and hell. Two main ideologies can be carved from his explanation with one being that Abraham’s bossom is a place of rest, comfort and relief for ones soul. On the other hand, hell is place of sorrow and displeasure. This rich man according to this story in Luke signifies that for all this two thousand years after the resurrection of Jesus Christ he is still in sorrows”.
Apostle Kingsford Kyei Mensah in the closing part of his message said, There is no place of purgatory as the teachings of men says. ‘
People should repent of their sins in response to the gospel gospel message out of a joyful heart and believe in Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ has power over death and hades and we reign forever with him.
